Cornelis Ploos van Amstel

Printmaker, merchant and art collector. He was the son of the Dutch painter Cornelis Troost (1696-1750). Van Amsel's art collection was one of the most important in the Netherlands, and included about fifty works by Rembrandt as well as works by Jacob de Wit (1695-1754) and da Vinci. He was co-founder of the Felix Meritis
