School of Art
DrawingsThe School of Art Museum has many fine drawings in its Collection. Of special interest is the Pre-Raphaelite and other Victorian drawings bequeathed to the University by George E J Powell of Nanteos in 1882. These include works by Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Edward Burne Jones. Sir John Williams bequeathed many significant works to the University in 1926, mostly oil paintings, but the outstanding volume of some 198 pencil, ink and wash drawings by the Italian painter Tommaso Minardi (1787–1871) is the only known volume outside Italy.
