The artist spent three years working on these drawings after his imprisonment for his part in an unsuccessful attempt by a number of Liberals to rise against the Austrian goverment of Piedmont in 1821
Miniature portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821). Head only portrait of Napoleon, viewed in profile, wearing a laurel. Each drawn line is made from minute calligraphy which recounts the battle of Waterloo. Drawing is placed in a leather bound presentation box with red velvet internal lining and a brass frame with leaves and berries.
