From a folder of loose engravings entitled 'University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. Department French Language and Literature. Portraits. From the F. W. Rudler Collection'. Cut from an English language newspaper with, verso, a report of the June 1874 sale of the art collection of the late Alexander Barker (c.1797-1873). The newspaper articles also evidence a fascination with France with one entry entitled 'Gazette des Dames' along with a correspondent's report from Paris. The writer of another article on 'The Crystal Palace Dog Show' used the Welsh pseudonym 'Tynyllwyn'.
