Printmaker and painter. Studied at High Wycombe School of Art, the Royal College of Art and then the Central School of Art. Whilst at the RCA during the war she and other students chose to be evacuated to the Lake District. After her studies she taught at art schools in Medway and Shipley before settling at Maidstone College of Art where she became Head of Printmaking and, towards the end of her career, taught Tracey Emin. She held solo shows in Britain, America, Australia, Yugoslavia and Germany and enjoyed travelling in Europe and the United States. She created modern etchings based on desolate landscapes, typically quarries, moorland, marshes and volcanic fields. She was a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, the Royal Watercolour Society and a founder member of the Printmakers' Council
