Civil engineer, artist and writer. Son of Thomas Tickell of Carnolway (1817-1898), a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy who inherited an Irish title. Richard Eustace supervised the construction of the Pen-y-Gareg dam, Elan Valley, and published 'The Vale of Nantgwilt - A Submerged Valley' (1894) which records the valley, before the reservoirs, with plates made after his landscape drawings.
