Giacomo Pacchiarotto

Born: 1474/5, Italy, Siena   Died: 1540

Painter. Also known as Pacchiarotti, or Jacopo Pacchiarotto. It is possible that he was taught by Bernardo Fungai (1460-c.1516). Active in the Sienese resistance against Florence, Pacchiarotto fled to France and joined Rosso Fiorentino (1495-1540) in the work at Fontainebleau. Pacchiarotto's original St. Catherine Finding the Body of St. Agnes resides in the Pinacoteca of Siena. He also created religious frescoes in the church of San Bernardino, and many of his paintings can be found today in Siena.
