Born: 1879, UK, England, London   Died: 1923, London

Painter and printmaker. Studied under Frank Short (1857-1945) at the South Kensington Art Schools alongside Malcolm Osborne (1880-1963). He then later taught at Goldsmiths' College until his early death caused by gassing injuries sustained in the First World War. He travelled through France, with Osborne, where he was influenced by the Barbizon School. In 1913 he was elected a full member of the Royal Engravers. His early work included portraits but he is generally known for his landscape etchings which were exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Royal Scottish Academy
