Jacqueline Stanley

Born: 1928, UK, England, London, Camberwell

Painter and printmaker. Studied at Beckenham College of Art and Royal College of Art, London, 1949-52, the latter under John Minton, Ruskin Spear, Carel Weight and Francis Bacon with fellow students including Edward Middleditch, Derrick Greaves, Jack Smith, Freda Sargent, John Bratby and Sheila Robinson. During the 1960s she taught at the Byam Shaw School of Art and Croydon, Hornsey and Maidstone Colleges of Art. A prolific painter and printmaker, her early work documented a rapidly changing London, before becoming primarily concerned with landscape. She has been living and working in Ireland since the mid 1970s where she taught at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin between 1975 and 1987. Jacqueline has exhibited widely and much of her work is in major public and private collections.
