D Brucciani & Co

   Active: 1881-1921

Domenico Brucciani was born in Lucca, Italy in 1815. Moving to London some years later, he traded from Little Russell Street and then from Leather Lane. Brucciani and Giovanni Graziani earned a reputation together as plaster figure makers, but following the dissolution of this partnership in 1857 Brucciani continued the business by himself. His career saw him work for the South Kensington Museum (now the Victoria and Albert Museum), the British Museum and the Royal Academy of Arts.

Following Brucciani's death in 1880, his company continued to trade under the name D. Brucciani & Co (1881-1906), and then as D. Brucciani & Co Ltd (1906-21).
