Born: 1924, UK, Wales, Fishguard

Painter. Studied at Cardiff College of Art. She lectured at Swansea College of Art for many years in both Painting and Architectural Glass departments. Her work as a painter and designer has been widely exhibited in the UK, Europe, and USA. She has held major exhibitions at Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Swansea, St. Davids Hall, Cardiff and Attic Gallery, Swansea. Her paintings are housed in numerous public and private collections, including the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, The National Museum of Wales, The Kunsthalle Museum Mannheim and the BBC Collection. Cour’s main sources of inspiration come from the work of Mark Rothko, JMW Turner and Caspar David Friedrich. A retrospective of her work was held at the Glynn Vivian Gallery in 2014 in celebration of her 90th birthday.
