Sue Hunt

Painter and printmaker. She graduated from Canterbury College of Art with a BA (Hons) in 1981, before going on to earn a Master of Arts from Cardiff College of Art in 1987. She was made a member of the Artists and Designers of Wales in 1981, and has been an active participant in the art community ever since. She has worked with numerous councils to assist with educational art projects and was a curator of the South Glamorgan Collection for two years. Her teaching career began in 1990 as teacher of the Foundation course at Mid Glamorgan College of Art & Design, before moving on to become a senior lecturer at the Norwich School of Art in 1991. She stayed there for three years before taking up the same post at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff (now School of Art and Design as part of Cardiff Metropolitan University) where she remains. She has also served as visiting lecturer for multiple institutions. Along with her academic career, her artwork continues to receive international recognition and has been exhibited widely both in the UK and worldwide. She has received several awards from the Arts Council of Wales, taking her on study trips to the U.S.A, Mexico, Philadelphia, and India. In 2004 she was invited back to India for an exhibition at the Jawahar Kala Kendre in Jaipur, and in 2011 she continued this collaborative effort by taking part in an Indian Exchange exhibition in Cardiff and Jaipur.
