Valentin Le Febre

Born: 1642, Belgium, Brussels   Died: 1700, Italy

Painter and printmaker. Le Febre, also known as Lefevre, was already active in Venice by 1664. He created his most famous work, 'Saint Maur in Glory', between 1670 and 1673, for the church of Santa Giustina in Padua. He produced a large series of etchings for the Van Campen publication of "The Works of Veronese and Titian", which was reprinted in 1682. He was active in England between 1680 and 1682. He painted mainly in the style of Veronese
