Andrea Procaccini

Born: 1671, Italy, Rome   Died: 1734, Spain, San Ildefonso

Baroque painter. Studied under Carlo Maratta (1625-1713). His most notable work in Rome is his painting of the prophet Daniel, part of a series of twelve prophets housed in the St. John Lateran Archbasilica. Procaccini eventually moved to Spain, where he painted for the family of King Philip V for over ten years before his death.
