Printmaker. Studied at Kanazawa College of Art, Kanazawa, Japan, where he received an MA in Fine Art. He has received numerous awards and accolades, notably the Grand Prize in the Intercontinental Biennial of Small Graphics, Romania (2008) and the SWE Overseas Prize at The Society of Wood Engravers 73rd Annual Exhibition, London (2010). Tsuritani has held solo exhibitions all over Japan as well as in Serbia and the U.K, and has been featured in many group exhibitions worldwide. According to his artist statement, his work ‘combines elements of traditional Japanese art (such as Ukiyoe, which means "floating world") with traditional European printmaking’. He is currently working on a project with Edinburgh Printmakers for a Japanese Government Overseas Fellowship Programme for Artists.
