Born: 1972

Painter. After receiving a Foundation Diploma from the Bournemouth College of Art and Design, 1990-91, he studied for a BA (Hons) in Fine Art at Falmouth College of Art and Design and an MA in Painting at the Royal Academy Schools. Specialising in portraits, he won several prizes, including the Prince of Wales Drawing Prize (2005 and 2013), the BP Travel Award (2006), Lynn Painter Stainer Prize (2009) and the Changing Faces Prize (2006) and was elected member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters in 2006. He exhibits across the UK, for example, at the Royal Academy of Arts, National Potrait Gallery and Holbourne Museum, Bath. His work includes e.g. a series of portraits of the rural community of Wessex. From 2005 to 2015, he worked in the artist Mary Spencer Watson’s (1913-2006) studio in Dorset and has been teaching drawing at the Arts University Bournemouth since 2004.
