Born: c.1570, Netherlands, Antwerp? (Flemish)   Died: 1629, Prague

Painter and engraver. From a family of Antwerp engravers his uncle being Jan Sadeler I (1550-1600) and his father Aegidius Sadeler I (1555-1609). He moved with Jan Sadeler to Cologne, c.1579 and, then to Munich, c.1588. He visited Rome briefly in 1593 before a more extensive Italian tour, 1595-97, when he recorded many Roman antiquities and studied renaissance paintings. Around 1597 he settled in Prague where he worked for the court of the Holy Roman Emperor. He engraved the paintings of Dutch and Italian artists as well as his own portraits and landscapes
