Born: 1959, UK, England, London

Ceramicist. She discovered the excitement of ceramics while at school in London. She studied for her BA in Ceramics at Bristol, and later for an MA at the Royal College of Art, London for an MA. She has travelled widely but now lives and works in North London. She is noted for her extravagant sculptural vessels and rich bright glazes. Many of her large scale works have been commissioned for public spaces such as nature reserves, foyers and parks, including <i>Rise and Shine Magic Fish</i> in Lea Valley Park and <i>At Home With Kate Malone</i> in the Geffrye Museum, London. In 2003 she published 'Kate Malone A Book of Pots' in which she writes about her making techniques, philosophy and travel diaries through twenty years of ceramic practice
