Ceramicist. He trained at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, having become interested in clay while at secondary school. his early influences were Bernard Leach, Shoji Hamada, and Michael Cardew as well as fellow Australians Harold Hugan, Reg Preston and Peter Rushforth. He initially made a variety of work ranging from thrown functional ware (mid 1970s), to large sculptural stoneware forms and miniature slip cast bone china forms (early 1980s). Since the late 1980s he has concentrated on the decoration of traditional vessel forms with lustrous glazes and reflective abstract patterns. His work is known internationally. He participated in the International Ceramics Festival, Aberystwyth, in 1987
