Number 11 of an editon of 15. Printed on the press of Glossop Printers, Cardiff. The works title is explained in a letter from Eric Malthouse to David Tinker dated 03/03/1969; '' 'Biplicata' is one of three paintings, a triptych I called 'Sprightly One, Two, Three'. There is a black outline drawing edition, of the same motif,.... during the production of this I liked the image on its side. On its side it became a new image, rather snail-like. At this time a species of rare snail was discovered by the Tower, and collected and transferred to Kings College, Cambridge.''
