1921 Etching in black on thin white Japanese proofing paper
99 x 120 mm. Purchase: The 21 Gallery 1922
Ten of Walker's etchings are recorded to have been purchased by Greenslade. Judging by their titles two were nocturnes, 'Moonlight' and 'Trees at Night'. However this print appears to be the only nocturne
Winter nocturne; foreground, a field with patchy grass; middleground, a hedgerow with trees; background, the roofs of two thatched cottages one with a chimney; sky, moonlight radiating through misty clouds. Etched with extensive cross hatching. Moonlight partly achieved by burnishing. Some ink left on the plate before printing
