One of a group of prints and drawings rescued by Vincent Lines from the artist's Fulham studio after his death. William Palmer Robins was a printmaker and watercolourist who initially trained in architecture. In 1909 he produced his first etchings under the direction of W. Lee Hankey and later studied with Sir Frank Short at the Royal College of Art. Robins taught at St Martins School of Art and became Head of the Etching Department at the Central School of Arts and Crafts
