Gift: The artist, through Paul Croft, from 'Stone-Plate-Grease-Water' exhibition 2008
This print was exhibited in 'Stone-Plate-Grease-Water', an AHRC-funded exhibition curated by Paul Croft of international contemporary lithography that explored the nature and diversity of current lithographic practice. The show included 90 prints by 64 artists from the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, Argentina and Jordan, and was accompanied by a catalogue and website (www.spgw.co.uk). At the end of the tour, artists who participated were invited to donate their work to the School of Art Collection
show object description
A man in a dark, large coat sitting and holding something in his lap, perhaps a baby? The image is deliberately disjointed with a line running up the centre displacing half of the man's face slightly. The image imitates an aged black and white photograph.
