2002-2004 Lithograph and woodcut 410 x 510 mm. Gift: The artist, through Paul Croft, from 'Stone-Plate-Grease-Water' exhibition 2008 "Although the drawing alludes to the disappearance of the buffalo, the text reveals names of various Indian chiefs who died either through conflict, disease or old age. Both reference the disappearance of a history" (Ref. Lynne Allen website). In 2007 Paul Croft curated 'Stone-Plate-Grease-Water', an AHRC-funded exhibition of international contemporary lithography that explored the nature and diversity of current lithographic practice. The show included 90 prints by 64 artists from the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, Argentina and Jordan, and was accompanied by a catalogue and website (www.spgw.co.uk). At the end of the tour, artists who participated were invited to donate their work to the School of Art Collection show object description |
