Matador standing in a bull ring. The bullfighter stands in the shade on the edge of the ring holding his cape in his right hand and his hat in his raised left hand as he receives the appreciation of the audience. In the background is a groundsman clearing the arena and numerous spectators in a standing ovation on the stands. Drawn with a sketchy, economical line with heavy rich burr and retroussage for tone. Slight mount staining. Paper has a watermark of a shield / mask with a horned crown
