Picturesque view of a cromlech; foreground, a tree, a cromlech with a large, overgrown, horizontal stone and a man holding an optical device with a flap controlled by a cord; background, mountain, possibly Snowdon. Dust-ground aquatint with etching and sepia watercolour wash. No evident plate mark. Paper has a watermark which reads 'J.WHATMAN'.
