Street scene in Chelsea (with Chelsea Old Church on Cheyne Walk); foreground, a hanging branch with leaves, a road and a walking figure; middleground, on the left, a three storey flat-roofed public house with ornate railings on a second storey balcony and chimneys, in the centre, a group of pedestrians, a lamp post and a horse pulling a wagon / covered cart, on the right, railings and part of a church with a tower, a clock and a nave with arch windows; background, distant buildings up a side street. Etched in a sketchy but detailed line with drypoint. The burr has been removed to create a soft atmospheric effect evoking the movements of the figures
