Prints / PR1604 The Lagoon Shrine, Venice Loan: Gregynog, Davies sisters 1989Fourth (final) state. Richards was working in Venice during September 1914. He made a drawing of the simple wooden shrine whilst waiting for a boat to an island across the lagoon. Richards wrote a poem about 'The Lagoon Shrine', where 'still the fisherman comes out and prays' to accompany the etching. Reference: W.J.T.
