Head only portrait, in profile, of the sculptor Auguste Rodin (1840-1917). The head faces the right margin. He has a long, but trim, beard and hair parted left of centre. Only his right eye is depicted but the eyelashes of his left eye are just visible. Etched with fine parallel lines with a diagonal orientation. Cross hatching is used only for dark areas around the nose eye and cheek. Large areas left unworked. Paper has the watermark 'O.W.P. & A.C.L'
