Portrait of a young woman, Ida John. She has dark hair with a side parting. Her head is tilted slightly downwards, with a thoughtful expression, and supported by her left hand on her lower left cheek. Her right hand is placed on her left elbow. She wears a blouse with a simple round collar. Etched in fine detail with cross hatching and sketchy lines for the body. Wiping used to create a slight surface tone. Paper has the watermarks 'O.W.P.' and '& A.C.L.'
