Constance Jones

Emily Elizabeth Constance Jones (1848-1922) was Governor of University College of Wales, Aberystwyth from 1892 until an unknown date. She was a philosopher researching in ethics and logic. Her publications include 'An Introduction to General Logic' (1892), 'A Primer of Logic' (1905, & 1910) and 'A Primer of Ethics' (1909). She was a member of the Aristotelian Society and the Society for Psychical Research. She was Mistress, and Research Lecturer in Moral Science, at Girton College, Oxford from 1884 to 1916. This painting is probably a study for the full-length portrait that hung at her home Llancayo House, Usk
