This painting was finished by B.A. Lewis. Sir Lewis Morris (1833-1907) was a descendant of Lewis Morris (1701-1765) and was himself a poet of the 'Angle-Welsh' school. He studied at Oxford and entered the bar practising as a conveyancing counsel for twenty years. He campaigned for the establishment of the University of Wales for which he later became Vice President and Honorary Treasurer. He was knighted in 1895
