Teapot in salt glazed stoneware. The birds and leaves were modelled by hand and the stem, neck and spout have been carved with lino cutting tools. Coloured clay was squirted onto the biscuit fired vessel to provide an uncontrollable element in contrast to the tightly modelled birds. The bird imagery, whilst not of crows, was taken from a wooden carving the the Museum of Mankind in London
