Teapot, milk jug, sugar bowl and 2 cups and saucers.Thrown in porcelain with an iron glaze and fired in an oxidising temperature to 1270C, this set is typical of the renewed interest since the 1990s in minimalist forms and white clays. The throwing rings are left very clear and each piece has a gentle indentation appealing to a sense of touch, suggesting the plasticity of unfired clay and a way of holding the form. The cups or yunomi (the Japanese word for tea cup) have no handles to interrupt the line with the emphasis on the form avoiding any sense of applied decoration.
