Gibbs trained at the Royal College of Art and was the first woman to win the coveted Prix de Rome for Engraving. She was founder of the Midland Group.
The exhibition covered all aspects of her career from the sought-after etchings of portraits and figure compositions of the late 1920s and early 1930s to the large abstract compositions drawn from aspects of the landscape of Scotland, Cornwall, Corsica, Gozo and Italy.
This UWA School of Art touring exhibition included works from its collection and from the Artist’s Estate. Oil paintings, prints and drawings from the 1920s to the 1970s were available for sale.
