Dr Elvet LewisDr Elvet Lewis (1904–1981), a graduate in Chemistry at UCW Aberystwyth in 1926, left his estate to the College in memory of his wife Catherine, a school teacher from his home town of Aberfan in South Wales. Lewis was headmaster of Ilford grammar School for twenty years until his retirement in 1970. He was an active member of the Old Students' Association of the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and he was President of the OSA in 1953. The Catherine Lewis Trust Fund was established and its income used, at Elvet Lewis' wish, 'for the purchasing for the College of works of art'.About Us | Acquisitions Policy | Acquisitions Policy - Graphic Art | Acquisitions Policy—Studio Ceramics | Our Ceramics | About our Collections | The Davies Sisters | The Davies Sisters | Edward Davies Building — The Opening in 1907 | Edward Davies Building — Alfred Cross | Edward Davies Building | Edward Davies | Edward Davies Building - The Chemical Laboratories | Edward Davies Building — The School of Art | Edward Davies Building | The Gallery of Crafts 1918–1935 | The General Museum 1876–1929 | History of the University Museum and Galleries | Learning Policy | About us Main Page | Mission Statement | Publications | Staff | Thomas Jones | Valerius de Saedeleer
